Barbie is My Heroine

Get this: I just saw a Barbie movie that was so inspiring. Barbie took care of herself so that she could support the team. And, the team was comprised of members that did the same.

When her superior, the King, was short-sighted and ego-centric, she stood up for herself with grace and facts. So did her team. It was amazing to watch.

I realize that, by contrast, I have tried to invest in myself so that I'll be attractive and the object of desire in some way. So, I hit the gym thinking about the accolades I'll get. I put off eating well, so I can show off how much I can eat. I deny myself quality time for exercise, sleep, meditation, etc., so I can double-down on my avoidance of feelings and so I can gain approval of my boss.   I never thought I'd say this, but I need to be more like Barbie.
