Getting ready for the baby

I spoke with my wife last night. Essentially, I started with the beliefs and desired we have in common, and then outlined what I thought was our shared goal. All the while, I was inviting her to comment and agree/disagree.

It went a lot quicker and smoother than I imagined. I concluded with, "so, I basically can focus on two things right now - loving you, and staying connected with you; and diving into work in a big way, so that I'm prepared for the baby.

It was a very pleasant conversation, where we openly discussed our limitations. We ended it by agreeing to take it one step at a time for the week, and stay in close communication. In particular, I'm going to work as much as possible, so I can achieve the following goals:

Work - By Fri at 5pm:
1. finalize first phase of scheduling system
2. complete all deliverables so I have no 'homework' for the weekend
3. map out next week
Exercise - By Sunday noon:
1. three 30 minute workouts
Relationship - ongoing
Stay in regular contact with my wife about my plans for work, and catching up with friends. The measure of success here, is that she constantly feels connected.
