Blind Offerings in Relationships

My primary focus on my relationships has been to to deliver the following, whether folks needed it or not:

1. Advice on life skills and/or marketing
2. quips, jokes, pranks
3. sympathy and compassion

I say the above are "blind offerings" because I dont really ask questions or listen to what people are saying in order to know what they really need. The above are not bad, but they are not enough. That's becoming more and more clear...
