MAY '12 update

GRADE: D


Wins:

PRO:  my job is secure, with a strong, upward trajectory established. Mentor team established for practice area/industry, exec training, and marketing.
 - received a job offer

EMO: strong connection to my heart; ADDHD totally in check
 - found the right dosage; meds working great!
- ID'd methodology for connecting with my heart

REL: family; friends respect me, follow my example; http://www.wikihow.com/Be-Respected 
 - made major strides in my marriage; found new level of closeness and positive trajectory

SHL: house, property, and cars well-cared for; in good shape. 
- finalized sale price and conditions

FIN: no-waste budgeting, initial investment strategy outlined; at least $10k in savings.
- kept spending down; continued with budgeting
- got agreement to get 2.5k in May; 1k monthly thereafter
- confirmed we can get $32k windfall from our insurance and investment products

INT: min goal: 10 books; reach goal: 24
- finished reading my third book; Spark: the Revolutionary New Science of Exercise and the Brain
- started MVVA approach to self-optimization
-started new daily drill that tracks performance, vs the old one which tracked participation

PHY: min flab and muscled; at or under 200 lbs; sleep disciplined; following the Plan for weight loss
- hit 218, despite being sick of off-plan for several days (combined)

SPR: Begin to develop a cohesive approach for the family
 - nothing yet

FAILS:

PRO: job offer retracted due to their poor financials
EMO: impulsively had sexy chat with former flame; wife saw this; didnt consistently take meds
REL: as a result of above, marriage went back to teetering on the edge of collapse; stopped calling ppl and making social plans every day
FIN: didnt track expenses each week; didnt get reimbursed as promised; didnt get paid as planned from new job
INT: watched more TV than read; didntt consistently follow the Daily Drill
PHY: didnt consistently go to gym; 218 is min goal. I'm off pace by probably 10 lbs right now



LESSONS LEARNED:

1. consistency is still major problem: meds, working out, finances, relationships all suffered due to this
2. daily drill is called that for a reason and it works
3. meds are the ballgame = when I take them, I perform. When I dont, I dont
4. I have to become WAY more agressive about getting work / income
5. My mental health and my marriage are mostly positive [could be a lot worse] but very, very fragile
6. Confidence in myself is directly related to how assertive I can be, professionally and personally. I could potentially make a series of "bold moves" - grand genstures that would compell people to work with me, socialize with me, and do favors to help me turn around my lack of opptys right now.
